The aviator jacket was born in the 1930s and 40s to protect pilots from the extreme cold of high-altitude cockpits, and it has since become one of the most recognisable pieces in menswear. This version keeps all its codes: the wide shearling-style collar, the tabs to close it against the wind, ribbing at the cuffs and hem, and a brown tone with a worn-in look that gives it character from day one. Wear it with an ecru cable knit turtleneck and beige pleated trousers for a classic look, or with jeans and boots for a more rugged style.
It is made in double-faced fabric, which bonds the outer shell and a warm faux shearling lining into a single piece, keeping you warm on the coldest days without extra layers. The faux shearling collar can be worn open or closed with its tabs, and the front fastens with a zip. It has two side pockets, and the elastic ribbed cuffs and hem hold the jacket close at the waist and wrists to keep the warmth in. Being 100% polyester, it offers the look of leather and shearling with no animal-derived materials.
