This straight-cut coat with a shirt collar has its roots in the car coat, a coat designed for driving. Its mid-thigh length lets you sit behind the wheel comfortably without the coat bunching up or getting in the way, which is why it's still so practical today. In brown, it takes on a warmer, more relaxed feel, perfect for the weekend: wear it with beige or stone trousers and a checked shirt, like in the photo, or with jeans and an Aran knit sweater. It's the ideal piece for a road trip, a day in the countryside or an afternoon in town.
Inside, the quilted lining and padding provide light warmth without bulk. The inner bib is removable and fastens with a two-way zip, so you can add it on colder days and take it out when the weather improves. The shirt collar can be turned up to keep out the wind. The front fastens with buttons and visible heat-sealed buttonholes for a clean, technical finish, and it has two welt side pockets.
